Nominations for the Veterans Ombudsman’s Commendation doubled

Ottawa, ON – July 17, 2014

I would like to thank the many individuals and organizations that took the time to submit a nomination for the Veterans Ombudsman’s Commendation. The application deadline has now passed and I am pleased to report that we have received more nominations than ever before.

Now the difficult task of reviewing all the submissions begins. This falls to the Veterans Ombudsman’s Advisory Council, which will also provide me with recommendations. I look forward to their advice and learning more about the many outstanding contributions these nominees have made.

The Veterans Ombudsman’s Commendation is awarded to individuals, groups, businesses or associations that have made an outstanding contribution to the well-being of Veterans and their families.  I will announce the 2014 recipients later this fall.
