Veterans Ombudsman in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu June 18-19, 2018

Ottawa, ON - June 18, 2018

June 18, 2018 – Ottawa, ON – Canada’s Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent is in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, today and tomorrow to meet with Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP members, Veterans and their families, Veterans’ organizations, and municipal leaders.

A private meeting with stakeholders is taking place today at which the Veterans Ombudsman will discuss issues affecting Veterans with a number of local organizations. Tomorrow, June 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., a public Town Hall will take place at the Quality Hotel Centre de Congrès. At the Town Hall, the Ombudsman will listen to the concerns and perspectives of Veterans and their families. He will also speak about the work his Office is doing to help Veterans and discuss his priorities for addressing the gaps in the benefits and services that are provided to Veterans and their families.

All the information gathered during these visits will help the Veterans Ombudsman make evidence-based recommendations to ensure Veterans have access to the benefits and services delivered by Veterans Affairs Canada.
