What motivated you to support Veterans and their families?
What motivated me was my own personal experience and struggles basically. My husband who was very seriously injured overseas in 2008, resulting in debilitating and permanent injury. I just know from the struggles we had initially getting started, administrative wise and all of that, the help was not as available as it is now. I had to do a lot of it on my own and I just thought that, you know, if I could help somebody else just to save them the stress, I’m happy to do it.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
The most rewarding aspect for me would be watching progress and results with other veterans transitioning out of the military, medically releasing. Helping them and guiding them. Getting there, again, we’re back to administrative, helping with as much paper work as I possibly can. Start teaching and learning the system so they can actually continue supporting their families.
