Video Transcript: Darrel Sundholm

I've known Darrel for many years, and I've always known him to be a man of service, both within the Canadian Armed Forces and as a retired Veteran. He has devoted his life to Veterans and to Veterans causes.

One of the things that Darrel has done is create a memorial plaque program for fallen soldiers from the war in Afghanistan. And he goes across the country with these plaques honoring Canadian fallen soldiers. Donating them to the families of these fallen soldiers and installing them in the high schools where these soldiers grew up.

These plaques make a big impact on the student communities at these high schools. Now, they can pay tribute to soldiers that are closer to their own age. This is closer to home. It has a relevancy to them to help them understand what service and sacrifice means in their life today, in our communities today.

Darrel, you have always worked so hard. You're so dedicated, you're so passionate, but you're also so quiet and so humble about all of the work that you do. I'm just so proud of you. This is so well-deserved.
