Office of the Veterans Ombud to Release Report on Additional Dependant Care

February 26, 2025, Ottawa, ON – The Office of the Veterans Ombud (OVO) will release a report examining unfair rules for reimbursement in the Additional Dependant Care coverage provided by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), that can disadvantage some Veterans participating in the VAC Rehabilitation Program. Those more likely to be affected by the fairness issues are caregivers with higher dependant care costs, including women, those with multiple dependants or dependants with high care needs, and single parents.
