Veterans Ombud is in Manitoba to meet Veterans Community

Ottawa ON
Canada

April 10, 2024, OTTAWA, ON – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in Manitoba the week of April 15 to meet with the Veterans community. The visit includes town halls in Winnipeg on April 16, and Brandon on April 17. As well she will be meeting with a broad range of stakeholders.

The town hall will provide an opportunity for the Veterans Ombud to hear the concerns of the Veterans community, and to share information on the work of the Office of the Veterans Ombud (OVO), as well as its priorities for the future. Veterans and serving Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and RCMP members, survivors, families and friends are invited to attend.

“I am looking forward to connecting with the Veterans community in Manitoba and learning more about the challenges they face. Hearing directly from Veterans and serving CAF and RCMP members and their families about their experience and obstacles they face with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) is vital for our office to understand and meet the needs of Veterans when issues arise. These town halls provide us the opportunity to do so firsthand” - Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine Veterans Ombud
