May 08, 2025 - We are excited to announce that nominations for the 2025 Veterans Ombud Commendation Award are now open!
Each year the Veterans Ombud presents Commendations to recognize and acknowledge remarkable individuals and organizations across Canada who demonstrate dedication and commitment in their support of our Veterans community.
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to support our Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police Veterans and their families? Then please nominate your candidate for this award by June 27, 2025.
These are the four nomination categories:
- National organization or group – to recognize the exceptional work and significant contribution of an organization or group with a national scope that has resulted in a long-lasting and positive impact on the well-being of Veterans and their families.
- Local organization or group – to recognize the exceptional work and significant contribution of an organization or group that has resulted in a long-lasting and positive impact at the local or regional level on the well-being of Veterans and their families.
- Individual – to recognize the exceptional work and significant contribution of an individual that has resulted in a long-lasting and positive impact on the well-being of Veterans and their families at the national or local level.
- Lifetime Contribution – to recognize the life-long dedication, exceptional work, and significant contribution an individual has made in supporting or advocating for Veterans and their families.

Nominations must include a completed nomination form and a summary describing why the nominee is deserving of the Veterans Ombud Commendation. Nominations may be submitted in writing, video or audio format. Click here for the guidelines & form. The nomination submission deadline is June 27, 2024.
