Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent released today a comprehensive review of the support currently available to families in transition from military to civilian life. Support to Military Families in Transition: A Review examines the role of transitioning families, the challenges they face and the benefits and programs available to them. It also provides an update of actions, as of January 1, 2016, against recommendations made in earlier reports.
The Veterans Ombudsman’s Annual Report for the period of April 2014 to March 2015 was tabled in the House of Commons today. It covers a busy year of activity by Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent and his team.
Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent released today an assessment of Veterans Affairs Canada’s implementation of the eight recommendations put forth in his 2011 report, Veterans’ Right to Know Reasons for Decisions: A Matter of Procedural Fairness and in his 2012 report, Veterans’ Right to Disclosure: A Matter of Procedural Fairness.
Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent released today his personal perspective on his role as Veterans Ombudsman from 2010 to 2015. The 2015-2016 Annual Report of the Veterans Ombudsman was tabled yesterday in the House of Commons by the Minister of Veterans Affairs.
The 2013-2014 Annual Report of the Veterans Ombudsman tabled in the House of Commons yesterday reflects an action-packed year.
Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent is pleased that the Minister of Veterans Affairs’ agrees with “the spirit and intent” of the vast majority of the recommendations put forward by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs in its report on the New Veterans Charter, The New Veterans Charter: Moving Forward.
Guy Parent, Canada’s Veterans Ombudsman, is pleased to honour two individuals with the Veterans Ombudsman’s Commendation, awarded for exemplary contributions to the fair treatment of Veterans and their families.
