Veterans Ombud in St. John’s and Gander to meet with Veterans June 5 – June 9

Charlottetown PE

MAY 23, 2023, CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in Newfoundland and Labrador the week of June 5th to meet with the Veterans community. The visit includes town halls in St. John’s on June 6, and Gander on June 8, as well as meetings with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.

The town halls will provide an opportunity for the Veterans Ombud to hear the concerns of the Veterans community, and to share information on the work of the Office of the Veterans Ombud, as well as its priorities for the future. Veterans and serving Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP members, survivors, family and friends, are invited to attend the town halls.

“Connecting with the Veterans community is essential in my role as the Veterans Ombud. While in St. John’s and Gander, I want to hear directly from serving CAF and RCMP members, Veterans, survivors and families about their experiences and challenges with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) as they seek to access available programs and benefits. The town halls are a terrific opportunity to hear their concerns.”
