SEPTEMBER 20, 2023, OTTAWA, ON – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in Petawawa to meet with the Veterans community. The visit includes a town hall in on September 27, as well as meetings with a broad range of stakeholders.

SEPTEMBER 20, 2023, OTTAWA, ON – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in Ottawa the week of September 25 to meet with the Veterans community. The visit includes town halls in Bells Corners on Monday, September 25, and Orleans on Thursday, September 28, as well as meetings with a broad range of stakeholders. 

MAY 23, 2023, CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in Newfoundland and Labrador the week of June 5th to meet with the Veterans community. The visit includes town halls in St. John’s on June 6, and Gander on June 8, as well as meetings with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.

February 27, 2023, OTTAWA, ON – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in Edmonton, Alberta the week of February 27 to meet with the Veterans community. The visit includes a town hall on March 1, as well as meetings with a broad range of area stakeholders. 

February 23rd, 2023, Ottawa, ON – Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine, Veterans Ombud, released a letter she has written to the Minister of Veterans Affairs highlighting unfairness in the way Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) is reducing Disability Pensions for some Merlo Davidson class action settlement claimants.

Following a complaint from the Chair of the RCMP Veterans Women’s Council, made on behalf of Merlo Davidson class action settlement claimants, the Office of the Veterans Ombud reviewed the complaint and found unfairness. 

February 1, 2023, OTTAWA, ON – Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine will be in British Columbia the week of February 6 to meet with the Veterans community. This visit will include town halls, meetings with stakeholders, and attending the grand opening of the Veterans Village in Surrey.
