From November 5 to 11, Canadians will come together to remember the Fallen, pay tribute to Canada's Veterans, and salute the men and women of the Canadian Forces and the RCMP who continue to serve our country with pride and courage as did Veterans before them.

Mr. Guy Parent, Veterans Ombudsman, will be available to speak with members of the media about Veterans Week and commemorating the achievements of our Veterans. Media representatives are invited to contact the Office in advance to schedule an interview.

On May 7, 2012 the Office of the Veterans Ombudsman will release a report entitled Veterans’ Right to Fair Adjudication. This report provides an analysis of Federal Courts decisions pertaining to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board.

Canada's Veterans Ombudsman, Guy Parent, will travel to Saskatoon to host a town hall session for Veterans,  RCMP  members, military members, families and other interested parties. These meetings are opportunities for the Veterans Ombudsman to meet with Veterans, talk about what the Office is doing on their behalf and answer questions about the Office and issues of importance to the Veterans community.  Mr.

Mr. Parent will deliver a short presentation, followed by a question and answer period with the audience.

On February 20, 2012 the Office of the Veterans Ombudsman will release a report entitled Veterans' Right to Know Reasons for Decisions: A Matter of Procedural Fairness. This report will examine the adequacy of information provided by Veterans Affairs Canada in their decision letters to Veterans who apply for disability pensions or disability awards.
