Veterans Ombudsman to hold Town Hall on Veterans’ Issues on June 19 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

Canada's Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent will host a public Town Hall on June 19 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Members of the Canadian armed forces and the RCMP, Veterans and their families, and other interested parties are invited to attend. This is an opportunity for the Ombudsman to hear the concerns of the Veterans’ community. Mr. Parent will provide also information about the work his Office is doing to help Veterans, and his priorities for addressing the gaps in the benefits and services that are provided to Veterans and their families.

The Report considers current challenges faced by Veterans as they age and/or require more care, and it makes recommendations to reduce complexity, streamline programs and ensure the needs of Veterans and their families are met, within the context of the Canadian Health Care System.

Veterans Ombudsman Guy Parent available for interviews following Federal Budget 2016

Canada's Veterans Ombudsman, Guy Parent, will be available for media interviews on March 22, 2016 following the tabling of Budget 2016. Mr. Parent will be in the Railway Committee Room (Room 253-D) located in the Centre Block of Parliament Hill, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Media representatives will need to acquire proper Parliament Hill accreditation.
